MI:4 - Is "MISSION HYPE" !!!

Dear People,

A very good evening. I am sure all of you have been awaiting the begining of the New Year ; 2012 as much as I have. On the movie front my wishes for “lights, camera –ACTION” are still very elusive. At present day I can firmly say that I believe in the business of cinema and even more in the craft of acting. Hopefully one of these days perhaps I can land up with this plump project / movie or even as a second credit as a screen writer/ story – hahahah. Alaas my dreams too are very very filmy and thus will keep this short and sweet. I recently watched MI:4, as much as the hype and the sensation called Tom Cruise, I wasn't really that cheered up or geared up for this film. Although I was keenly awaiting the release of this movie and that too ever since the media highlighted the induction of Mr. Anil Kapoor. Its been ages since I last saw the MI:3 edition and so I was a bit side tracked. Having said this the movie did have tall the usual trappings of a spy thriller along with the stereotyped plot of a secret service / espionage being pulled off in and outside the United States. The mystery, the thrills the chase and definitely the high tech gadgets and equipments are all fancy to the eyes. Having said this I was more keen to see Mr. Anil Kapoor’s part in this movie which was quite a surprise considering the hype. I was expecting more of a scene to scene combat, perhaps some raunchy and steamy sequences, anyhow that did not seem so and the audiences had to make to do with a small cameo. The Dubai sequences seemed gaudy and over the top and the whole sand storm sequence was a hoax. I loved the paradox in that the link of the Russian mafia and its roots here in the UAE- this was quite ironic and cool – hahaha.

Tom Cruise is definitely a mega star because he possess that level of magnetism and charisma and that's why his movies are all about him. You definitely can overlook all the flaws apparent in this movie as the script is loose, and the plot too is very skimmpy but with all these loop holes the movie is a winner. Its a good edge of the seat entertainer but then again it has some over the top exaggerations.  3 thumbs up.
