Main aur Mrs Khanna - Marriage's and the New World.
What I admire the most about our hindi films, is the fact that they believe in their own prase of "movies, masti aur magic". Even till date it mesmerizes me to see hero's jump off planes, buildings and even romancing their heroines in the streets of New York and Londons.
Main Aur Mrs Khanna - is a romantic love story that deals with some of the lovable cliches of hindi cinema, and the film does have a good theme but a loose script. The script arrives to the point in the very end. To be honest, this movie could definately could have been made much better. People who know me will endorse that I like any hindi movie because at the end of the day it is hard work and toil that goes to make a complete film.
What does not work with Main aur Mrs Khanna is the fact that there are too many already used cliches in film and to top it off the story tries to concentrate on both the loves stories of Salman Khan and Sohail Khan. Had the focus been on anyone of the love stories this movie would have been a fantastic watch. Its not a fantastic creation but a good attempt to try and bring out the insecurities in a man, the deep thinking capabilities of a woman and how much stronger women really are - I know these are concepts and ideas that have been over used in the world of hindi cinema but then again there is always room for improvement as the narrative for movies is always new.
Main aur Mrs Khanna does advocate and endorse the fact that n todays day and age, marriages are very different. The hardbound rule of women being house wife's is just not the case anymore. Today jobs are actually being created for women and married women also have a place. Which is a great thing but then again its just tough to crack the marriage as recent times have suggested that many marriages do fail because of the lack of time being spent by couples and constant ego clashes seem to damage many marriages and marriageable relationships. It's interesting to see that in most hindi movies of this sort the ending is always a happy ending, when in reality life is tough and relationship even tougher. I guess it will always remain a mystery to try and understand a "Mrs Khanna's" as she will always tough on the outside and never disclose her inner true feelings.
Overal the movie has some good costume, good locations and a good soundtrack which in no way can suffocate the audiences. So watch it if you guys are free and have nothing else to do and if you have recently visited Austrailia, thus you can relate yourself to some of the touristie sites.
As for my "Mrs Khanna" - well whenever she does come along - hehehehe ;)
