BAND BAAJA BARAAT !!!

Hey Guys –

As discussed and mentioned earlier I have been lagging behind in my writing and reviews. Anyways just to highlight the old rule that once the script and content is in place then no film maker needs any major starcast, its all about the story. Once the story is in place you need a good set of actors or an ensemble starcast who can just do the rest. Band Baaja Baarath is one of those movies which has its heart in the right place. If I were to be filmi then I would say; “kya baath hai Delhi mein itna hai kamal ki punjabio ne baaja di dhamal”. I mean that’s the bottom line, as this movie is a winner right from the first frame of the film. Both Ranveer Singh and Anushkha Sharma are electrifying right from the word go. Anushka Sharma was a revelation during her debut at Rab De Bana Di Jodi but honestly she has more to her than anyone of the newcomers It’s really awesome to see that at such an young age she knows exactly what she has to do when it comes to her job as an actor. The way she acts is amazing and her expressions make you feel each vibe of the scene in the truest manner. You know she is a natural. Let’s just say that the void which Kajol left in the industry has been filled up by Anushka Sharma !!! I was amazed that she actually inculcated every single small nuance of Delhi life in her expressive acting. The script didn’t demand so much but the fact that she acted with her heart truely shows. Ranveer Singh is a revelation too – although I feel he lacks the dept which Ms. Shruthi Kakkar has - hahahaha – the essence of Delhi and the wedding season was well captured in this film and I am sincerely touched with the racy pace of this film unfolds. I personally would not give a big score on the soundtrack but the movie, the scene setting the performances, the director, the cinematographer, the art director all of them together have done a brilliant job to capture the essence of each and every mood of the script. I guess some of the advantages of a good script and screenplay is that all the work is done “it’s like an instruction booklet”
