BADMAA$H COMPANY !!! It's good to be a badmaash ;)

Hey Guys –

Sorry for a late response, just that I have just been busy at my end and trust me it isn't something that I am very happy about. What’s really kept me happy and real chirpy is the fact that movies are coming out and they keep me intrigued. I have to admit that both HOUSEFUL and BADMAASH COMPANY have definitely cheered me up. To start of fresh I am not sure how many of you are Shahid Kapur fan because I am definitely a huge fan of his acting talents. The guy has this uncanny nature of pulling of a simple character and actually elaborating it lavishly on screen. I always saw the starry attitude of this guy every since I spotted him in Ishq Vishq and it gives me a huge sense of pleasure to actually note that Mr. Shahid Kapur is good at his craft of being an actor and that too of a panache one. Now to focus on BADMAA$H COMPANY – I liked the movie because it had a fast paced to it although the theme, plot and storyline is stereotypical and one which has been used many times in Bollywood. Shahid has acted well to pull off a story and film like this and definitely this goes to show the vision that Parmeth Sethi has had, which goes to show that both Shahid and Parmeth choice of cinema included sleek and stylzed filming. The movie was good for me because the film offers the urban youth a good zeal to be street smart and witty. In effect in reality what is more important is how street smart and witty one really is. This theme is communicated very well throughout the movie. The film does not have a huge merit on the script but the screenplay and cinematography has managed to cover up this loop hole along with some amazing performances from Mr. Anupum Kher, Kiron Joneja, Shahid Kapur, Vir Das, Anushkha Sharma and Pawan Malhotra. The urban youth will appeal to this movie because it has the degree of panache that it requires to get the box office rolling. Although internationally especially the USA, UK, CANADA and AUSTRAILIA the movie might just not click with the audiences as this has a lot to do with fact vs fiction. The movie dwells with an already used plot and also a good understanding of the world of conmen and their approach on life.

Personally I think the film offered a good part for all the actors although it is quite obvious that this is a Shahid Kapur film. In short – BADMAA$H COMPANY is a film which has a good script with a focused screenplay as this helps carry the notions and visions of the story which by itself is very clichéd. The movie is different because the acting of both Anushka as well as Shahid and Parmeet Sethi's vision for the film has been clean and crisp.

Cheers –
Souvik
