"Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Khahani"- Is all about "Ajab Ranbir".

Last week the movie line ups were good. I mean you had two different perspectives of cinema revealed. One was a light hearted fresh young love story and the other was a serious human drama about strange coincidences and misshaps. Lets take one things at a time, and lets start with Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Khahani...First of it seems like Ranbir Kapoor's confidence as an actor has improved and his talent is being revealed. First it was his performance along with Konkona in Wake Up Sid that gave him many applause and now its Ajab Prem...actually, "Ajab Ranbir ki khahani"..hehehe. His character in Ajab is an extension of Siddharth Mehra from Wake Up Sid with a difference in characterization. In that the approach to the movie is from a comic perspective and "Sid" was on the serious side of things. Or perhaps Ranbir played the characters in the same manner. In either case the main difference is that there is a huge comic undertone in the movie and the love story between Kartina and Ranbir is very subtle and sweet. Although the film consists of a dime a dozen cinematic liberties the movie will and offcourse has worked because of the freshness that can be seen on the screen. That too between ranbir and katrina. The dialogues are contemporary whic What adds on as a bonus to the film is the chartbusting soundtrack and album of the film. This is something that the youngistan movement in India would love to relate to and definately practice this in real life as compared to reel life. The movie does have a chalk full of cliches of a different caste marriage, different cultures coming together, the difference of the rich and the poor, the movie works because it is an all and all Ranbir Kapoor film. Although Katrina is a huge star the show and the film belongs only to Ranbir because his performance is something that makes audiences craving for more. 

The special effects used as well as the VFX used in the fight sequences are hilarious and delight for the human eye.The storyline of the film is not new, it has a cliched and old formula but the movie works because of the freshness of on screen pairing and the fantastic comic timing of the ensemble star cast.
