"AURANGZEB" - Good act but just about okay ;)

It's been a long time since I have been here on the blogosphere thus feels amazing to be back. I really have been quite irregular with my write ups and the reason has only been work, work and more work. I am going to catch up with all my writing as much as I can.

"AURANGZEB" - I am sure many of you have already seen this flick and if you have not then let me assure you that you really haven't missed a lot. What really impressed me about the flick is the unique twist towards the end of the film and Rishi Kapoor, Pritiviraj and Jackie's Shroff's acting ! It was a treat to see Jackie dada come out into a role that suited him more than usual. Rishi kapoor has definitely redefined  his position at the movies, right from CHINTUJI, LOVE AAJ KAL, FANAA, DELHI 6, LUCK BY CHANCE, STUDENT OF THE YEAR and now ; AURANGZEB. The veteran actor seems to just excell in every single role and every single frame. It is really incredible to see that at his age an actor can evolve so much with dignity and class. I am sure you guys must be thinking why I am ranting about a veteran actor and not the youth as this movie is about ARJUN KAPOOR. Well, the only reason is that I felt that Arjun played an extension of his character from ISHAQZAADE and as for SASHA AGHA she was absolutely a big waste of screen space although, I have to admit that she has some good singing skills and according to me she should concentrate on her singing.

The story of the film delves into the land mafia cartel and the nasty nexus that remains between the Delhi and Haryana Police and power house construction magnets ; this is cliches as this not something we as audiences do not know already. The movie has some plus points apart from the acting of the mentioned few the movie is brilliantly shot and edited and some of the family confrontations are well scripted. I am guessing this movie was a wrong call from YRF. Some bad decisions happen and this is definitely one of them.
