"Rowdy Rathore" - a roaring hit.

Hey People,

Hola, greetings and namaste. How are we doing ? As promised, I am back with my urge to splurge with my write ups. Please do pardon me for the tardiness but I am catching up. First on the list is "Rowdy Rathore" then "Tere Mere Kahaani" &; " Gangs of Wasseypur" are to follow soon. As a one word description ; "Tere Mere Kahaani" - just touches the heart with piercing happiness. "Gangs of Wasseypur" - is one hell of a gruesome, disgusting, ugly and dark film that exposes the underbelly of coal smugglers and their cartels. "Rowdy Rathore" -  is a mass entertainer that eludes an attractive element that keeps audiences glued to their seats. The film comes with the usual ingredients of an Akshay Kumar filum ;) – the movie has a very basic story, predictable plot and screenplay that has been used and overused in Hindi cinema, the other ingredients  of comedy, high octane action sequences compliment the good soundtrack of the movie. So an obvious question ; "what does this movie offer ?", well, this Akshay Kumar filum is "zaara hatke". I know well that many people around probably don't like movies like these or even my reviews when it comes to these mass entertainers, but you guys have to like the "masala flavor". What is hatke about this Akki starer is that the movie although a remake of a Tamil film has a bihari flavour which is quite unusual for film makers in the south to infuse a north Indian back drop for their movie. Most south Indian movies usually come with a lot of emphasis of good relationship building especially of family ties, in this movie I liked the father daughter relationship as it comes with a lot of heart and love and the emotional connection really works. Rowdy Rathore does boast of many south Indian movie sensibilities, such as the extreme animosity in the villains / or lets just say that the villany is extreme and over the top. I can't comment much on the ensemble starcast as I don't know the names of the other actors and I have not seen many of their movies, so to judge their performances I will only say that they all have performed well enough. The sole highlight of the movie is Akshay and Sonakshi.  Akshay's acting has always been convincing but then again this is a movie where he probably knew first hand that he needed to be a buffoon and also play the sane cop with responsibilities. Sonakshi’s spontaneity works miracles as its quite evident that the camera likes her and she is an evolving artist who just loves to perform and entertain. The movie as many of you would know is a roaring success collecting more than INR 100 CR at the box office and this is partially because Akshay being the star that he is always can attract audiences into the theatre, prior to his action / comic stride audiences loved him for his martial arts fighting techniques. Off-course today his stardom speaks volumes for himself as well. The soundtrack of "Chamak Challo" and "Chinta Taa Taa Chita Chita Chinta" is something that is crowd grooving and woow.

Honestly guys I loved this movie as it just worked wonders for me and I am a masala film junkie - so people - GO WATCH THIS MOVIE FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT AND THE SEETIE'S :)

"Chinta Taa Taa Chita Chita Chinta"

Cheers ;)
Soveik.
