"BLOOD MONEY" - Just about OKAY.

Hey Guys,

As mentioned I have seen this one almost a month back - so I am just going to
dive into this.

"Blood Money" - is a conventional Bhatt camp movie with all the ingredient's of a typical Vishesh Film intact. The Bhatt's have always followed the low - cost film approach with good stories to tell and good performing artist's. The movie is all about the illegal diamond trade that takes place in Africa. After all haven't we all heard, read and discussed the African conflict diamond scene and how it is used to finance terrorism. Well, now you all know what the story is about; Kunal Khemu comes to South Africa to work for a very big diamond producing company. As he is the typical ambitious protagonist he spends time in work trying to follow the principle of "work hard and make money constantly" if possible. The glitz and money of the diamond industry smears his vision and he starts to neglect his wife Amrita Puri, and that's when the story turns towards a culmination of the script where the male protagonist feels for his heroine. If you guys can sense it then you have already sensed that the movie is mundane and repetitive. The screenplay and the narrative of the movie is engaging but the character and situation build up of the script is more faster than usual. One would always want pace but sometimes its quite important to strike that balance between "racy" and a "medium" pace in the narrative of the film, this gives audiences some time to get used to the character's. The onscreen chemistry of Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri is just about okay as there didn't seem much engagement of the character's within themselves. Having said this, both these artist's are good actors because they have done a commendable job to carry the film in their own capacity. The movie is a low budget movie with a decent enough soundtrack. I really cannot find much merits to speak about this one people. I am told that apparently the film is a hit !!! I am not sure as I feel the movie lacks that punch.
Watch this on television when a channel plays it on a Sunday / Monday...hahahaha.
Cheers :)
Souvik.
