"EK MAIN AUR EKK TU" - A Decent enough watch !!!
Hey Guys,
Good morning, and "HELLO"- hope we are all doing well. The disappearing act at my end has been a constant and I do apologise for this. In all honesty, life has been a bundle of hopeless, tiring worries that seem to hold me back like a dog on a lease - hahahaha. I have been yearning to splurge out writing, and thus I am going to start right away with my views on "EK MEIN AUR EKK TU" - I have anticipating to see this film ever since the promos were first aired on satellite. The only reason I was so keen to see this film with "high levels" of interest was because I have been a die hard Las Vegas fan for years. The walk down Las Vegas boulevard and the ostentation's of the casinos still drives me crazy.
"EK MEIN EKK TU" - is a movie which is very different from most of the modern day movies which have this uber urban flavour. The movie comprises of all the normal cliches involved in modern day "love" relationships as well the predicament to profess ones feelings. The script and story of this film is not extra - ordinary but the movie works, and it works because of the uncommon twists and turns in the script that spills out into a good entertainment quotient, which in turn keeps audiences glued to their seats. Dharma Productions have always been active in the international markets, they have always made movies to suit the taste of the urban population in India as well as abroad and so far they have rarely gone wrong in s"triking the right chord of connection" with their films. The thing that really amazes me is that Karan Johar always has an innovative narration for his story and off course lets not forget the brilliance of his movies come about with apt in built marketing pitches in the script. The reflection of modern day relationships with an angle of friendship is something that is always saleable - good job "KJO". The backdrop of Vegas, the use of ultra luxury brands for the look of the film and the incorporation of "stars, such as Kareena and Imran" does make this movie a good watch and a brilliant business proposition. One aspect of the script I loved was the accuracy in which the "maca - pau" culture was imbibed and shot, the characters are all well defined. These days most movies have an ensemble star cast performance and the actors all have done a brilliant job. Boman as always has done a brilliant job, Ram Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah - both of whom have super comic timings are outstanding, and this comes without any doubt as they are veterans. Have to admit that Kareena Kapoor's character delineation of the modern Indian girl trying to settle down in the USA is just too good to be true, Imran Khan has always had different characters / but unfortunately his acting style is unique in a way that he rarely seems to offer any variation, but at the same time he is a saleable star. The soundtrack of the movie is decent and to the ears.. So guy's watch this "Dharma Production's" film as its a good watch with good amounts of entertainment.
Cheers ;)
