“3 – Idiot’s – a fact for cinema”

What can I say about "3 Idiot's" when soo much has already been said about the film. Personally, I loved the movie to the core. The contemporary dialogues and situations created were very real and definitely something one can relate to.  What makes 3 idiots a delight to watch is the fantastic screenplay and a sound narrative. Whether "3 Idiots" is a copy of the book is a good question because I haven’t read the book, I would like to believe that the movie is an original as the movie had an original feel to it. I am not going to even comment on the humour of the movie as it was hilarious to the core. The concept of telling the story with a comparative of the past and the present was a brilliant idea and to think that Hirani, Chopra and Joshi thought of a screenplay in that order was something that was simple yet outstanding. I personally did not relate with the characters as I have always been a commerce student but then again I could relate to the complex situation of competition and cocky idiots whom I have come across in life. I am happy that Hirani chose a plot and story that compares the intellectual capacities of human beings because in today’s day and age everyone seems to have this astounding impression of themselves as being "the best". At present I am unemployed and the amount of bragging that I hear of the “so called” successful people is something that leaves me far from astounded but actually baffled at the vanity that many people carry with themselves. I have to admit that some cinematic liberties were taken especially with the child birth scene and the historic rain, but then again we have to give in to the fact that this is cinema and a degree of exaggeration is acceptable on screen.

The identity of each character in the movie is definitely drawn from reality and it is quite obvious that Hirani and Joshi has astutely observed the urban youth of India. A lot of detail has been given to each character and that is probably what many movies lack. The identity of characters, perhaps this is why the movie is a winner all the way. I myself am surprised and the sums that media is talking about when one speaks of the revenue of the film. I am sure it doesn’t stop here because Dvd’s are probably waiting to be released as well.
