Mausam - is one hellava weather ;)
Hey Guys,
I have to admit that I have always been stirred by this movie going on floors. I mean the very fact that you have Shahid and Pankaj Kapur in the same production, one automatically expects a good movie. I had quite alot of hopes on this movie. Many of you guys out there, who know me well also know that I praise the creative content of movies and the creative process of film making with a certain pious angle to it. So keeping in mind that I am the "wannabe Bollywood Star" I have to admit that I was disappointed by this movie.
The movie is chalk full of twists and turns with an uncessary prolonged ending. Pankaj Kapur being the director has given attention to may detailing in the movie *( the prick of the finger and blood rolling down the binoculars or the splashing of mud when the kart gets stuck in the mud)*.
I mean the movie has a great plot for love being timeless and the air force angle too is quite evident that Mr. Kapur has been fascinated with the discipline exposed by the air force officers and pilots. Having said this I felt that the movie was dragged on for no reason and the love angle was built up on some shaky grounds towards the end. The movie had some amazing cinematography, some great moments during the initial courtship and some good tunes too. I have a crush on Sonam Kapoor so will praise her but then again she is quite stiff in her character delineations. Having said this Shahid has proved his versatility and its impressive. Unfortunately this movie ain't a blockbuster so its going to be tough, its kindda sad as there are quite a few veteran actors who perform to the best of their abilities.
Apart from that I would recommend this watch because the film is excellent in bits.
Cheers :)
