Mein Yaamla Paagla Deewana !!!

Hola people -

Sorry for the delay in writing about movies as I have been busy to the neck with work and office. You know how it is !!! When the going gets tough, the tough gets going, and thus I have been put to task. At present day I have 2 Hindi movies pending and 1 - 2 English movies which I need catch up on and I hope that I will be able to do this soon. Now t begin with my recent watch "Yamla Paagla Deewana" - I have to admit that I have come across a decent entertainer this past week as "YPD", has this unusual comic flare which keeps the audience enthralled with hilarity and although the movie has a chalk full of cliches which have been made redundant and over used in hindi cinema many times the film reaches out to the average goer because of its simplicity and fast pace. Each frame has a carrying effect and the script although lacks a good story and plot has the bare essential common sense not to drag the movie goer. The common trappings clichés used in the film is really good as it leads the audience to laugh at the characters and also a parallel reference of modern day society and how it functions. Its amazing to see that Dharmendra is back to what he does best although its clear that he is used to his old comic timing and prefers to use it more *(to make matters little more monotonous)* but then again it was amazing to see the 3 father and sons light up a good chemistry on screen. "APNE" was a weird story something I couldn't relate too but then again "YPD" has a certain element of dark humour of dumb Punjabis / Indians wanting an NRI - preferably a Canadian, USA citizen for thier son - in - law. The movie is humours and not that monotonous as it might seem from the promos. The film keeps audience enthralled also not to forget the usual mentality of indians and that punjabis are over the top is very well mentioned throughout the movie.

This movie is for the average film goer and the guys who like "Dhobi Ghat" are not going to like this movie !!! The guys who don't like this movie will love "Dhobi Ghat".

Cheers -
Soouviek.
